The Edit Window Status Bar

(the information bar at the bottom of the Edit Window)

  1. Current line/total line in document (type in a line # and press Enter to go to that line)
  2. Find: Type in text to find and press enter to locate text in the Edit Window.
  3. Choice of recently opened files
  4. JMaker version number

Recent FilesShow a menu of recent edited files

Edit Menu
FindOpen a Find/Replace Dialog
Search in filePerform search (and replace) in multiple files .
Select AllSelect all text in the Edit Window
comment out lineComment out the current line where the cursor is by placing "//" at the left hand margin
block indent->Indent the selected lines to the right by placing a tab on the left margin.
 At least part of a line must be selected.
 All lines that are partially or totally selected will be indented.
block unindent<-Unindent the selected lines to the right by removing a tab on the left margin.
 At least part of a line must be selected.
 All lines that are partially or totally selected will be indented.
 Lines that are already on the left margin with no tabs will be unaffected.
copyCopy the selected text to the clipboard
cutCut the selected text to the clipboard
pastePaste text from the clipboard into the Edit Window at the cursor location
deleteDelete the selected text - not to the clipboard
undoReload text from the undo buffer
redoReload text from the redo buffer
Insert Menu
packageinsert 'package packagename;' in the Edit Window document at the cursor position.
 The package name = the file path - the source path.
 For example:
 Editing: c:/java/source/aslider/Aslider.java
 source path is: c:/java/source
 package name is: aslider
 So this command would insert: 'package aslider;'
 The source path may be changed using the Paths Window .
Edit infoInsert edit info at the top of the file.
 Edit info options are set in:
 Alpha Frame, Options, Other, Editor tab.
 Put user name into edits
 Put file creation date into edits
 Put in editor's name
 Put the lst edit date into edits.
insertInsert text into the Edit Window at the current cursor location.
 Take a look at the "insertpairs.txt" file for information on how to customize the insert menu to your own needs. The file is located in the "jmaker1/config/insert/" folder.
View Menu
Alpha FrameShow the Alpha Frame
memoryShow the memory usage window
line numbersDisplay line numbers down the left-hand edge of the Edit Window.
code blocksMark code (scope) blocks using colored vertical lines along the left-hand edge of the Edit Window.
MethodsShow a Method window that parces the Edit Window's .java file to try to locate method statements. Click on the lines in the Method Window to highlight the source in the Edit Window.
Tool TipsDisplay the Tool Tips window that displays tool tips for many of the JMaker buttons and fields.
classSee the Alpha Frame - Classes tab.

Operation Menu

This menu is used to access the JDK tools as well as other JMaker tools

Other
commandOpen a command window.
socket monitorOpen a socket monitor window. The socket monitor window lets you start a server socket to accept socket connections and/or start a socket connection to a server socket. Output from the connections is displayed in a text area. You can send output to the connection by typing in a text field and pressing enter to send the message. You can open as many of these windows as you need.
